This report is the English version of "Tratta di persone a scopo di sfruttamento e traffico di migranti" and aims at identifying the ways to improve: (1) judicial responses to the trafficking of persons and the smuggling of migrants; (2) international cooperation among law enforcement agencies and judiciaries in combating the criminal organisations involved in human trafficking and smuggling; (3) prevention of the phenomenon through the knowledge acquired about criminal organisations and their modi operandi; (4) actions for the social protection of victims.
